About this recipe

Jazz up your Christmas feast with this delicious marriage of crunchy chicken and sweet holiday ham!

Prepare the following

Ingredients

Main

4 pcs Whole chicken breast fillets, large, sliced to make 2 fillets
8 cups Christmas ham, thinly sliced
1/4 cup Butter, softened
Freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
3-4 pcs Eggs, medium, beaten well
2 1/2 cups Panko (Japanese breadcrumbs)
1/2 tsp Kosher salt
1/4 tsp Freshly ground black pepper
Cooking oil, for frying

Sweet Mustard Dip

1 cup Mayonnaise
4 tbsp Yellow mustard
3-4 tbsp Alaska Classic Sweetened Condensed Filled Milk 377g (290ml) (or to taste) Buy now

Creamy Gravy

1 pack Del Monte Gravy Mix
1 1/2 cups Alaska Classic Evaporated Filled Milk 360mL Buy now

Procedure

To make Sweet Mustard Dip:

In a small bowl, whisk 1 cup mayonnaise, 4 tbsp yellow mustard, and 3-4 tablespoons Alaska Classic Sweetened Condensed Filled Milk.
Chill until it is ready to use.
To make Creamy Gravy: In a sauce pan, combine 1 packet of gravy mix and 1 ½ cups of Alaska Classic Evaporated Filled Milk.
Whisk until completely dissolved.

To make Chicken and Ham spirals:

prepare 4 large whole chicken breast and slice each in half.
Slice into each of the breast fillets and butterfly them into a uniformly-thick slice.
Pound the fillets into 1/2 cm thick pieces, rounding out the shape of the chicken.
Spread some softened butter on each fillet.
Sprinkle with ground black pepper.
Place a thin slice of Christmas ham on each piece of chicken.
Start rolling each piece from one side to the other, securing ends with a toothpick or two.
Repeat step 7 until you have rolled all 8 pieces.

For the breading station:

Place 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour and 2 ½ cups of Japanese breadcrumbs on two separate plates.
Whisk 3-4 eggs in a small bowl until completely combined.
Season the all-purpose flour with ½ tsp salt and 1/3 tsp pepper.
Coat each roll in the seasoned flour. dip into the egg mixture and then coat with the Japanese breadcrumbs.
Repeat step 12 until you have coated all of the 8 rolls.
In a nonstick frying pan over medium heat, pour cooking oil until it is ½ inch deep.
Once oil has heated up, fry the rolls for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Slice each roll diagonally into half-inch slices.
Serve with dip of your choice.
